The City of Ranier is situated on beautiful Rainy Lake at its confluence to the Rainy River.  The City provides several public facilities for enjoying its natural resources.   

Public Boat Launch @ the Spruce Street Dock.  At the north end of Spruce St/ CSAH 20 with a public boat launch along the east side of the dock.  Public parking on Main St/CSAH 20 just around the corner.  You'll see folks strolling on the dock eating ice cream enjoying the view of the lake facing toward Canada. A prime spot for viewing Rainy Lake's beautiful sunsets! Day-use only.

Rainy River Dock.  At the west end of Duluth Street for public boat mooring.  The Rainy River Dock is available for public recreation for fishing, strolling or sitting on the benches watching the pelicans or the trains crossing the Ranier Lift Bridge to and from Canada. Day-use only.                                       

          

 

Jameson Dock On the Rainy River off CoRd 92, for public fishing and mooring.  Must be accessed down a stair system along the bank of the River. Limited parking on CoRd 92.  Day-use only.

Ranier Beach. Ranier has a wonderful natural sand beach available for public use with a swimming pier for sunning, swimming and fishing.  The City does not have a lifeguard, so please swim at your own risk!

 

 

Ranier ParkThe City of Ranier has a "3 season" park on the east side of Spruce Street/CSAH 20 with ample playground equipment for children.  There are also horseshoe pits, a park pavilion and BBQ grills.                                                                       

 

 

 

 

Ranier Ice Skating Rink and Sliding

Hill.  The City of Ranier has a wonderful outdoor skating rink available for public use.  During the winter months, you'll find kids sliding down the adjacent hill and returning to the top to try it again!  The rink has a warming house and a beautiful stone fire pit for keeping warm on chilly days while watching the kids skate.  Additional parking is now available on the hill just north of the sliding hill and can be accessed from East Duluth Street and Lynn Avenue.
