NOVEMBER 13, 2019 LAND USE PLANNING COMMISSIONERS APPOINTED

The Ranier City Council appointed the following members to the Land Use Planning Commission:  Mary Ann Kasich (Ranier Town Center), Ladd Kocinski (Brennan's Beach), JoAnn Kellner (Alberta Park), Jeff McHarg (Brennan's Beach) and Berta Wilcox (Jameson Addition).

MAY 19, 2015 - RANIER LAND USE PLANNING COMMISSIONERS APPOINTED

The Council appointed the following residents to serve on the Ranier Land Use Planning Commission:

Ladd Kocinski (Brennan's Beach), Jeff McHarg (Ranier Town Center), Jeff Oveson (French Addition), Sue Swendsen (Ranier Town Center) and Ron Wilcox (Ranier councilmember/Jameson Addition).

The Land Use Planning Commission shall advise the Council in matters regarding land use applications and general matters affecting the administration of the ULU ordinance and use of lands within the city. The Land Use Commission may hold required public hearings on behalf of the Council.

The Commission has the following powers:

To recommend to the Council approval, approval with modifications, or denial of amendments to the Ranier Community Plan.

To recommend to the Council approval, approval with modifications, or denial of amendments to the Unified Land Use Ordinance.

To recommend to the Council approval, approvals with conditions or denial of applications for a conditional use permit.

To recommend to the Council approval, approvals with conditions or denial of applications for an interim use permit.

To recommend to the Council approval, approval with modifications or denial of amendments to the zoning map.

To recommend to the Council approval, approval with modifications, or denial of preliminary and final plats for the subdivision and platting of land.

Membership: The Commission shall consist of five members. Four members shall be nominated by the mayor and approved by the Council. One member shall be selected by the Council from their ranks to serve as a member of the Commission. In making these appointments, special consideration should be given to ensure geographical representation across the city, e.g. Jameson, French, Brennen's Beach, and Ranier Town Center should have representation. The Land Use Administrator and other staff and city consultants shall advise the Commission. All five members of the Commission shall have the right to vote. Members of the Commission must reside within the corporate limits of the City of Ranier.
